Behavioral Science in Buildings and Transportation: BEAR Hub Results

Behavioral scientists have developed numerous theories for encouraging energy-efficient, climate-friendly actions, but those theories rarely make it into real-life programs. To bring these together, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) launched BEAR Hub (Behavior, Energy, Action and Research) in 2025. Over 10 months, BEAR Hub worked with two cities, one state agency, one county agency, and one business to increase participation in their energy-saving initiatives, spanning the buildings, industry, and transportation sectors.
Join us for a webinar to learn how BEAR Hub used behavior-informed solutions to increase program participation. Representatives from ACEEE and three of five Clients Using Behavioral Science (CUBS) will discuss the results and lessons learned. The webinar will conclude with audience questions and interactive discussion.

Join the Behavior, Energy & Climate Change (BECC) community for a webinar exploring the behavioral and climate change implications of data centers and AI. We’ll examine key questions about AI’s impacts and mitigation strategies, including:
