Health & Safety
While the number of COVID-19 cases in Sacramento County, CA is currently low, November is the beginning of cold and flu season, so we encourage you to wash or sanitize your hands frequently, practice social distancing and wear face coverings according to your own level of comfort.  Please respect the choices of your fellow attendees. Currently, neither the Hyatt Regency Sacramento nor Sacramento County have mask or vaccination requirements.  

Safety guidelines are subject to change at any time based on federal, state, and local regulations. We ask that attendees follow all safety instructions provided by the hotel or BECC staff at all times, and that you do not attend any in-person event if you are feeling unwell or showing any symptoms of illness.

Badges must be worn at all times in order to access conference activities, workshops, and receptions.

Meals and Dietary Needs
Your full conference registration includes the following meals and receptions (one-day registrations include all meals and receptions on that day):

Monday, Nov. 13 – Continental Breakfast, Buffet Lunch, Morning and afternoon coffee breaks, Poster Reception
Tuesday, Nov. 14 – Continental Breakfast, Buffet Lunch, Morning and afternoon coffee breaks, Climate Comedy Festival
Wednesday, Nov. 15 – Continental Breakfast, Morning coffee break

If you have special dietary needs, please indicate this in your registration details. Most meals will be served buffet-style, with all food items clearly labeled. There will be a selection of vegetarian and vegan items available at each meal. Please contact info@beccconference.org with any questions. 

Mothers’ Lounge
Sequoia Board Room – 2nd Level
A private space for nursing mothers. Please see the registration desk for access. 

Quiet Room
Ventura – 2nd Level
Need a moment to yourself or a private space for religious or cultural observation? Visit the Interfaith/ Quiet Room in the Ventura Room on the 2nd floor. This tech-free, shared area is open to all.

Students – is there discounted registration available for students?
Yes! We encourage students and post-doctoral scholars to be part of the BECC community. A discounted full-conference rate of $495 is available to qualifying students. 

Parking and Transportation
Hyatt Regency Sacramento is located ten miles from Sacramento International Airport (SMF) and just one mile from the Sacramento Valley Station for Amtrak service. The hotel has both self-parking and valet options, plus 26 electric car chargers included in the price of parking. BECC is unable to validate parking. See details.
